Safety Certificates

You are required by law to acquire a safety certificate before offering a registered vehicle for sale or when re-registering a vehicle.

Our Approved Inspection Station comes to you to electronically produce safety certificates which are sent to both you and Queensland Transport to streamline the sale/re-registering process.

Don’t panic! If you receive a failed Safety Certificate, Queensland Transport allows owners 14 days to rectify any problems identified and to have the vehicle reinspected. You do not need to pay the full inspection fee again, just a sign off fee which depends on your location.
